Architect Ko Shiou Hee began his career with Morphosis. He went to work in Kohn Pederson & Fox and IM Pei. He returned to Asia to work in Tokyo as a design consultant.In 2000, Architect Ko return to Singapore and set up his own Architecture Firm, K2LD Architects. Ko's designs expresses spatial clarity with a spiritual philosophy. He describes his creations as a quiet response to his clients’ aspirations and a quest to provide spatial clarity within which the human spirit can operate. He is currently one of the Principal Architects of the Firm.
Architect Ko shares “Nothing encapsulates this better than the quote by Issey Miyake, the most influential Japanese fashion designer, who said ‘My creation is never complete until the wearer wears it’. In my case, my creation is never complete until the occupier lives in it and makes it his own,” he says.

Wind Catcher House He says his curiosity about everything, from quantum theory, genetics, pottery, and sculpture to fuzzy logic, is what inspires his designs.

“This curiosity is the driving force behind what I do and how I inspire myself to design and to see things differently each time,” he says.

Prior to starting K2LD in 2000, Shiou Hee worked at Architects 61 as design team lead, during which he designed numerous institutional, commercial and residential buildings. Shiou Hee was also in charge of projects in Indonesia (Jakarta), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City & Hanoi) and China (Shanghai). Landmarks that he worked on included the Bishan Community Club, the Tampines Plaza I & II, the Harbourfront MRT station and the Sengkang Mass Transit Depot.
